A Notable Christmas…

It was another notable Christmas singing season for the Women, but not in the same way as LAST season. (see previous post!) This year involved ice storms, power outages, bronchitis, dental mishaps, and passionate kisses:-)

While every detail cannot be divulged here in a public forum, suffice it to say that no matter the circumstances, we girls had a lot of fun! Here we are last Saturday night at the York Harbor Inn. (We were given the most beautiful room for our dinner break…)

We were back in action on Sunday afternoon as we performed for the wonderful residents at Atria. The concert was followed by a reception and a photo shoot with Santa!

Afterward we headed to Riverridge Health System to sing for the residents and their nurses. They, too, were a lovely audience!

Our final destination for the day AND the season was out favorite Thai restaurant, Mekhong Thai, where we had our annual Christmas dinner/party/Yankee Swap. We had a great time eating, laughing and singing. The most sought-after gift of the night? A basket of coffee and all the accessories.

Happy Holidays!

Women of Note started off the Christmas season on Sunday with a holiday concert at the Nonantum Resort in Kennebunkport.  The concert was sponsored by the Kennebunk Senior Center and it attracted a good sized crowd.  The women sung holiday favorites like “Carol of the Bells” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”.  They also debuted their 3 new pieces (see previous blog!) which went well – the girls are breathing a HUGE sigh of relief about THAT!  

After intermission, the crowd joined in on “Silent Night” and “O Come all Ye Faithful” – the voices and harmonies brought tears to this writer’s eyes…

The Women practice every Sunday afternoon.  Our space is a “Ladies Lounge” at a local church, and we are very happy and comfortable there.  We have access to a piano, a tea kettle, the thermostat, and a bathroom – what more do we need?!
